So... this is my first true blog and I feel like I have great material. Last night, at 3:15 am, Parker comes to our room and says he has to potty but he acts like he is stalling for some other reason. He goes to the bathroom, plays around for a bit and then slowly comes back and spills the beans. Well, there is a flying IPOD in his room and it is really scary and he needs to sleep with us. As I am walking him back to his room, I am trying to get him to explain to me what can be so scary about a flying IPOD. Don't they play your favorites songs and shows? "Well, yes", he says, "but this one has arms and legs and it just flies over my head."
He goes back to sleep but informs me this morning that he did not rest well last night. As we are going to bed tonight, he is still afraid of his room (the same room that in the past has had ghosts that I am not 100% sure don't exist in it). I told him the best thing I know to do is ask God for help with this. He was a little shy so I said I would say the prayer for him. "God, will you please keep the flying IPOD away from my room and give me sweet dreams tonight." (And I threw in an extra prayer to keep Parker in his bed all night.) He rolled right over and went to sleep. See? God does answer prayers!!!

Hey Nicole, try getting a spray bottle and fill it with water. Put a sign on it that says something like "Scare Away". Then when Parker has something that scares him, let him spray the "Scare Away" and he should feel better and not so scared anymore. I haven't personally tried it but I've read it in a hundred parenting magazines. We just tell the kids, "There's no such thing as monsters, ghosts etc" or "Ghosts are not allowed in our house."
